The training was done at the Mabopane Baptist Church in Mabopane by Pastors Carel, Gebhardt, Grant and Shadrack, as well as Overseeing Shepherd, Thomas Mitchell.

4. TCN GAUTENG REGION: FURTHER REPORT ON STATION ACTIVITIES

1. PASTOR RUDY AND DAWN HOFFMAN

Pastor Rudy Hoffman and his wife Dawn have 13 Pastors/Leaders relating to his station, who are from 8 different churches.  Activities in their station during the course of 2009 included the following:

•    Their station reached out to schools, disadvantaged people and old aged members of their community (WESRAND).  There is a positive co-operation between the Churches and the community forum and they believe that the Church is a relevant factor in the community.
•    Two outreaches were done in conjunction with the S.A.P and the community radio station, Rainbow FM. These outreach events consisted of a mobile trauma clinic, which was normally presented very successfully from Sunday to Sunday alongside the busiest highway.  Weekly programmes were also presented.
•    Four of their leaders successfully completed a six month School of Ministry Course at Hatfield Christian Church (East).  These two families (Rovain and Tersia in Lichtenburg and Wayne and Doreen in Hatfield – Johannesburg South) were allocated to the “Christus vir Dienswerk” Church.
•    Pastor Rudy Hoffman acted in an overseeing capacity over the Harrismith Congregation from September 2009 and believes that Father God’s mercy was great in working restoration in this Church.
•    Pastor Rudy wrote the following comment:

“Ek wil julle bedank vir al die liefde wat julle as span saai  in  ons lewens en mag ons saam  2010 ingaan met groot genade van ons Hemelse Vader”.

2. PASTOR IVOR AND HILARY TEMLETT

Pastor Ivor Temlett and his wife Hilary have 11 Pastors/Leaders relating to his station, who are from 10 different churches.  Activities in their station during the course of 2009 included the following:

•    Pastor Ivor and the men in his station visited a Golf Driving Range.
•    A social game of Ten Pin Bowling was included.
•    End of year party was a sleep over at a Spa for 1 night.

3. PASTOR GERHARD AND MELINDA ROODT

Pastor Gerhard and Melinda’s Station in South Gauteng region has grown amazingly over the past year out of a general need from the local pastors to stand in relationship with others.  They started out with a group of 12 people and ended the year with approximately 25 – 30 people attending the meetings.  There has been a buzz at every meeting and the guys are hungry for impartation.

Information from the Regional meetings that has been shared at the Station meetings has been well appreciated and accepted, giving direction and support to the local churches.

Interaction and support also came from the churches within the station, reaching out to one another and meeting specific needs of some of the pastors and churches, which has really been amazing to see.

The Station has been a platform for encouragement and there is a healthy building of trust and relationship between all the pastors.  There have been great times of impartation, sharing and speaking into one another’s lives in praying together and prophetic word.  Though it has been a tough year for many, it has brought the relationships to a new level of transparency and speaking into one another’s lives.

Great number of TCN Gauteng region pastors and leaders attended and supported the TCN National Conference held at Hatfield Christian Church (East)

7. CONCLUSION

In conclusion I believe we have worked hard at relationship building, equipping, mentoring, leadership development, laying foundations for church planting, seeing some churches coming off the ground whilst others were slower, yet the TCN Gauteng grew tremendously in numbers and attendance. Our biggest challenge remains to impart that this is a network built on relationships and moving towards a vision and not a fraternal. Our 2009 scenario is as follows.

•    Pastor Carel Berndt - 176 attending members from 90 Churches.
•    Pastor Gerhard Roodt - 39 attending members from 18 Churches.
•    Pastor Rudy Hoffman - 13 attending members from 8 Churches.
•    Pastor Ivor Temlett - 11 attending members from 10 Churches.
•    Pastor Jacob Manyaka - 15 attending members from  7 Churches.

•    Total for Gauteng Region -254 attending members from 133 Churches.
